Massage Therapy

Massage therapists manipulate the soft-tissues of the body. This is the muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments. The tissue manipulation is by pulling, pushing, kneading, rolling, temperature, and pressure.

Massage

Massage is used to soothe sore muscles, reduce stress, increase blood flow, and help with conditions like fibromyalgia, anxiety and arthritis.

If the correct muscles are targeted, massage therapy can provide substantial healing and pain relief for people suffering from low back pain caused by muscle tension and strain.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is more focused. It is generally used for patients recovering from an accident or injury. Physical therapy is focused on how to fix a particular problem in a particular area of the body. The primary goal is to get the problem, or injury, to function again.

Massage

Physical therapy would be appropriate after an injury or operation.

Massage Chairs

Massage chairs can be effective in reducing back pain. A good one will have adjustable intensity, the Shiatsu massage nodules, and heat therapy.

Heat therapy is one of the most commonly used solutions for back pain. The Shiatsu massage therapy has been proven to alleviate back pain, and of course you want to be able to adjust the intensity.

Inversion Table

Inversion therapy is a technique where you are suspended upside down to stretch the spine and relieve back pain.

One study found that inversion therapy at 60 degrees reduced back pain after only eight weeks. It also improved flexibility and strength.

Inversion therapy doesn’t provide lasting relief from back pain, and it’s not safe for everyone. It could be risky for anyone with high blood pressure, heart disease or glaucoma.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a practice that applies pressure to reflex zones on your feet, hands or outer ears to affect your entire body.

The concept is that reflexology stimulates the body into healing itself by improving circulation, reducing stress, pain and restoring a natural balance.

Kneading the soft fleshy ball of the foot, pulling on the toes, tracing around the heel and pushing deep into the arch are just a few of the many movements of a reflexology treatment.

  Massage

Lower back pain is treated by applying pressure to the reflexes on the soles of your feet, the entire area around your heel and around your ankle, as well as the inner edge of each foot. The reflex points for your spine are located along the inside edges of your feet.

Chiropractor

Chiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and other alternative treatments. The theory is that proper alignment of the body’s musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine, will enable the body to heal itself without surgery or medication.

Chiropractic therapy is primarily used as a pain relief alternative for muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue, such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons.

Manipulation is used to restore mobility to joints which have been restricted by tissue injury. Tissue injury can be the result of a traumatic event, such as falling, or repetitive stress, such as sitting without proper back support.

The goal of chiropractic treatment is to reduce any pain a patient may be experiencing as well as improve the function of the body.

Spinal manipulation and chiropractic care is generally considered a safe, effective treatment for acute low back pain. Acute back pain, which is more common than chronic pain, lasts no more than six weeks and typically gets better on its own.

Hot Tub

Hot tub hydrotherapy is one way to treat and relieve lower back pain and other injuries. The warm, soothing water promotes blood circulation, which aids the healing effort.

Massage

Heat expands blood vessels, improves circulation, helps to relax muscles, and reduces pain. Look for jets that can be positioned directly onto the back.

Do not use a hot tub for any medical condition without reviewing it with a physician.
